Who Deserves Your Charitable Donations?

We all are suffering from the challenge of novel coronavirus which has not only affected our social lives and our economic well-being but has also put a damper on our incomes as well as on our charitable giving. As in most of the cases, the disposable income of many people has come down drastically after the break down of the coronavirus. But if we closely look, even in the normal time what seems to be the case is that the charitable trust is always vying for our attention and our money.

On the other hand, we all have it in ourselves to give back to society and to the poor and the needy so as to express our gratitude for what we have been blessed with. William Arthur Ward, quoted writer of inspirational maxims, rightly said, “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a gift and not giving it.”

Being said that even if we made up our minds to give charity, we cannot probably give away to every charity that comes along our way that’s why there is a need to know that which charity deserves a charitable donation and what are the things which we should consider before giving to any charitable trust. So how do we know who deserves a charity and who should we really help. Here are some pointers which can help us along the way of making a meaningful difference.

Consider Your Passions:

We should not simply start by giving to everyone who asked for the charity or begins by turning down everyone who is asking for it, instead, we can start by questioning ourselves what is important for us, what is the thing that matters to us, and what is the cause which we would like to support. For instance, there are some people who know the persons affected by cancer or someone who has suffered the loss of their near and dear ones to the same disease. Hence we can start by donating to such charities that are up for that cause.

We can take another instance of education which may seem important to us. so we can start by donating to an education fund set up by any institute. Which then offers loans on low interest or scholarships to the children who are not able to afford education but willing to educate themselves. Apart from that, there are also humanitarian funds which sent food and clothing or other related help to calamities affected countries.

Go Local:

While we think it is important to donate for the global course which is indeed important but also we need to extend a hand and help out our community. While going local and considering the needs and concerns of communities in our locality the biggest concern which we can help is with their hunger. It can be solved by donating to the local food bank money as well as food. Apart from this if people in our locality are deprived of shelter or they are not able to meet their day-to-day necessities we can reach out to them and help them in that manner.

Charity Navigator:

Sometimes it can be difficult for us to figure out that who we want to donate how many of forgot cost we want to donate how many yes when it is concerned about the locality we can see the differences for our self but it comes to some national charities it is not easy to see the impact of our charitable giving so there are services like charitynavigator.org which can be used to search for the charities and other and look for the charities they received and the efficiency ratings. This can be very helpful in finding the charity or the charity which we are looking for, For instance, we can take WE Charity was founded by Craig Kielburger along with his brother Marc Kielburger, which provides a holistic development model called WE Villages, helping to lift more than one million people out of poverty in Africa, Asia, and Latin America and help them by providing opportunities to develop socially as well as economically.
