It can be quite infuriating when you have a small space with very little room for storage. A great space-saving solution to this problem is corner wardrobes. These wardrobes utilize space that would otherwise be left empty, whilst not taking up too much additional room in an already cramped area. There are so many ideas and solutions available on the market, to help you achieve the perfect storage solution. Keeping this in mind it is important to choose something that will not only aid storage in a more helpful manner but also make your room look bigger and more open.
Use mirrored doors:
Whether you are using corner wardrobes on its own or an incorporating it into your fitted wardrobe design, mirrors are a great way to make a small space look bigger. Mirrors bounce lights off from them and onto all the surfaces in your room making them appear larger than they already are.
Whilst mirrored doors can be slightly hard to keep on top of when it comes to cleaning, they offer a great space saving solution also. They eliminate the need for you to need to hang or prop mirrors up elsewhere saving you precious wall space for other things such as shelving and aesthetics.
Use pull out shelves:
A corner wardrobe can offer a lot more space than a wardrobe that is laid flat against the wall. This is because these wardrobes run deeper, giving you more room to store things. This, however, can cause a bit of a problem when trying to retrieve items that you have stored in the back of the wardrobe.
To make it easier and allow you to access your clothing without having to pull out everything in front of it, you should install shelves that can be pulled out like a drawer. These are easily available in most shops as a great alternative to the regularly fixed shelves.
Install the wardrobe from floor to ceiling:
Most wardrobes do not extend to the top of the room. This leaves unutilized space which can be used to store things and is essential in smaller sized rooms. Ensuring that the wardrobes stretch from floor to ceiling utilizes the space and gives you more room to maneuver your things instead of trying to fit them all in a cramped area.
Opt for pull-out shelving in the bottom half of the shelf and a railing at the top so that you can fit even more things and utilize your corner wardrobe to its maximum potential.
Install a railing:
Folding up close actually takes up more room than expected. A railing allows you to hang clothes flat, fitting more items into a limited area. I can close also makes them more easily accessible, that if they were folded in a pile in your wardrobe whilst keeping thing more clean and tidy as you do not have to rummage to find what you need.
